Unfortunately we have to announce the resignation of Dr Prendergast. He has been offered full time work at the Marines base in Poole and has taken up that offer to leave the NHS. He will work until April when we hope to have a full replacement soon after.

You will be aware of major changes planned for the NHS by the coalition government. The majority of doctors are against these changes despite government spin. The latest government recommendation is for more patient say in their practices, so all practices are expected to set up a patient group. If anyone is interested please contact our manager by phone or via this survey form.

Since last year we have been joined by doctors in training. Foundation year 2 doctors have been qualified for over a year working in hospitals and then gain 4 months experience with a general practice whilst supervised by qualified GP’s. Our ‘F2’ doctors work alongside our duty doctor each day. They then go back into hospital medicine before deciding which branch of medicine they wish to pursue. Please be aware that doctors in training may ask to sit in with your usual doctor, we don’t mind if you object so please tell reception or your doctor.
